The Dreamer- As Steph likes to tell the story, “We met in grad school, eventually Ben proposed then promptly moved to Chile. He left his Organic Chemistry PhD program with a Masters because he wanted to be outside, speak Spanish, and use his chemistry knowledge to make wine - the ultimate combination of art and science.” To put it simply, Ben is a dreamer.

Ben views winemaking through two different lenses as a chemist and someone who has a passion for aroma and flavor. He brings the vision, and over a decade of expertise from making wine in Chile, California and Oregon. Combining everything he has learned from mentors like Alejandro Wedeles, Todd Graff, James Frey, Jacques Lardière, Michael Davies, Cheryl Francis, Anna Matzinger and Stephen Webber, Ben looks to craft distinct, authentic wines for Finite Cellars.
